Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 7, 2026

This policy explains what Interview Coach ("we") collects, why, who processes it, and what control you have. Interview practice is personal — we designed the Service to collect only what the coaching genuinely needs.

1. What we collect

DataWhy we collect it
Account — name, email, password (stored as a hash), practice goal and target roleSign-in, personalization, communicating with you
Your CV — the uploaded file, its extracted text, and the AI-built profile and reviewPersonalized questions, fit analysis, CV review, application materials. Email, phone and street address are stripped from the AI profile at extraction (the original file you uploaded is kept as you sent it)
Jobs & companies — postings you paste, company descriptions, our web research briefs, contacts and interview dates you saveBuilding position-specific questions and preparing you for the company
Voice recordings — your spoken interview answersTranscription and delivery analysis, including voice-pattern analysis (pace, pauses, fillers, and an AI estimate of anxiety/confidence/stress heard in the voice) used solely to coach you. Recordings are deleted unless you ask us to keep them: by default each recording exists only for the seconds the analysis needs it and is deleted immediately after — we keep the text transcript and the metrics, not the audio. If you switch on Keep my recordings in your profile, we store the audio of your interview answers and your rehearsals so you can listen back to them; you can delete any recording, or switch the setting off again, at any time. We do not use your voice to identify you and we never build biometric identifiers
Written answers & session results — transcripts, scores, reviews, reportsYour debriefs, progress trends and session history
Purchases & usage — token balance, purchases, per-feature usage recordsBilling, metering, fraud prevention
Visit measurement — a random identifier stored on your device, the pages you open, the page you arrived from, and the advertising parameters in the address if you came from one of our adsCounting how many people use each part of the product, and working out whether an ad we paid for brought anyone who stayed. Handled entirely on our own servers — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no third-party analytics service, and none of it is sold or shared with an advertising network. If you later create an account, the identifier is linked to it so we can tell which ads produce real users. See the Cookie Policy for exactly what is stored and how to clear it

We never turn your camera on. The app does not ask for camera access at all — there is no self-view and no video of you, anywhere. Your answers are recorded and uploaded as audio only. The video in an interview is the interviewer's, rendered by us.

2. AI processors (sub-processors)

The coaching runs on third-party AI infrastructure. Depending on the feature used, Your Content is processed by:

  • OpenAI — transcription of your answers, question generation, answer evaluation, CV analysis, voice-emotion analysis, text-to-speech, company web research;
  • Replicate — rendering the interviewer's avatar video clips (receives the question text and the avatar portrait, not your personal data);
  • Tranzila (when card payments are live) — payment processing; we never see your full card number;
  • Cloud hosting for the application and its database.

These providers process data to deliver the feature you invoked — under their own privacy and data-processing terms. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.

3. Retention — and your control over your answers

Voice recordings: not retained. Answer audio is processed transiently and deleted the moment analysis completes. What remains is the transcript and the coaching metrics — and those are yours to control: every session has a permanent delete action that removes its transcripts, analysis and report immediately, no request needed.

Your other content (CVs, positions, materials, session history you choose to keep) is retained while your account exists so your coaching keeps its memory. Cached company research contains no personal data.

4. Your rights — wherever you are

We honor these rights for all users worldwide, not only where the law requires: access a copy of your data; correct it; delete specific items or the entire account; restrict or object to a particular kind of processing; and receive your data in a portable format. Use the in-product delete actions, or email simcoachtrain@gmail.com from your account address — we answer within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profile, CVs, sessions and materials from live systems; residual copies in backups expire on rotation.

EEA / UK: our legal bases are performance of the contract (running the coaching you invoked), legitimate interests (security, metering), and consent where required; you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor access and deletion requests without discrimination. Where data crosses borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our processors.

5. Security

Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; access to production data is restricted; payment card data never touches our servers. No internet service can promise perfect security — use a unique password.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the account.

7. International transfers

Our AI processors operate primarily in the United States; by using the Service you understand Your Content is processed there as described above.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the Service or by email at least 14 days before taking effect.
